Qualification & EXPERIENCE YEARS :

Dr Lim Khong Hee graduated in 1992 with a Qualification from the National University of Singapore. He received his postgraduate Qualification in 1998 and was a Clinical Fellow (HMDP) at the renowned Princess Alexandra Hospital (Brisbane) in Upper Gastrointestinal and Laparoscopic Surgery in 2002. In 2004, he was admitted to the Fellowship of the Expert In of General Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In 2004, he was also made a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine (Singapore).

Dr Lim Khong Hee was the Director of the Upper Gastrointestinal Service and Senior Consultant in the Department of General Surgery, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, prior to forming his private practice.
During his tenure as Director of the Tan Tock Seng Hospital Center for Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Dr Lim promoted the development of complicated and cutting-edge laparoscopic skills and techniques and led the organization of basic, advanced and master class laparoscopic courses. He also formed a network at E-Da Hospital with international centers of excellence such as Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and the International Endoscopic Obesity Centre (Taiwan).

Dr Lim Khong Hee has been commonly introduced to laparoscopic upper gastrointestinal and advanced procedures such as radical gastric resections with systemic lymphadenectomy, laparoscopic fundoplication, and morbid obesity laparoscopic surgery. He has gained extensive EXPERIENCE YEARS in both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy (including ERCP). Dr. Lim engaged actively in the training of basic and advanced surgical trainees and was coordinator of the Introduction to the Colonoscopy Programme Programme (Virtual Reality-based). He has also been a clinical professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a final technical test examiner for MBBS Qualifications.

Dr Lim Khong Hee was the Track Leader for the 2008 Annual Scientific Congress of the National Healthcare Group (NHG) Laparoscopy Symposium and a Clinical Mentor for the 2009 and 2010 Exit Exam Preparatory Course, organized by the Chapter of General Surgeons. Additionally, in the Annals, Academy of Medicine, Singapore and the Singapore Medical Journal, Dr Lim Khong Hee is a reviewer.

For several local and regional events, he was an invited speaker and chairperson. He has also been a member of Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s Qualifications and Accreditation Committee, Endoscopy Committee, Quality & Patient Protection Committee and Hospital Transfusion Committee. Oesophageal and gastric cancer, hernia and minimally invasive surgery are among his research interests. He is also a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) (SAGES).
