• Dr Lim Chong Sian is a consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon at Gleneagles Medical Centre, where he has been practicing since 2001. Additionally, he is an accredited consulting surgeon at Mt. Elizabeth and Parkway East hospitals. He earned a bachelor’s Qualification in 1985 from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and a fellowship in general surgery in 1990 from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom. In 1994, he completed his advanced surgical training in General Surgery. He received a scholarship from the Singapore Ministry of Health’s Manpower Development Programme in 1996. This was a one-year full-time clinical fellowship at the University of Hull in the United Kingdom to further his subExpert In interest in colorectal and laparoscopic general surgery.
  Dr Lim has been a fellow of the Singapore Academy of Medicine since 1996 and was a founding member of the Singapore Society of Colorectal Surgeons. He was previously a member of the teaching faculty of The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s InterCollegiate Basic Surgical Skills Course held in Singapore twice a year.
  As a member of the Gleneagles Minimally Invasive Surgery for General Surgery committee, he is actively involved in the teaching and promotion of ‘key-hole’ surgery in General Surgery. His Expert In encompasses colorectal surgery, laparoscopic or ‘key-hole’ surgery, and the majority of general surgery procedures. He has been a member of Gleneagles Hospital’s Medical Quality Control Committee since 2008.
• Dr Lim Chong Sian received the 2005 Minister of Health Award for his volunteer work in medical relief in Sri Lanka in the aftermath of the 2004 Asian Tsunami. In 2006, he was again awarded the Minister of Health Award for Medical Relief Efforts Following the 2006 Indonesian Earthquake.
