Dr Liew Seng Teck Adrian has special interests in diabetic kidney disorders, kidney transplantation, glomerular diseases, and peritoneal dialysis.
Prior to private practice, Dr. Liew was the Department of Renal Medicine’s founding chief of nephrology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and program director for the Chronic Peritoneal Dialysis program.
Dr Liew Seng Teck Adrian was also a senior consultant with the Ministry of Health and was active in numerous national programs, including the chairmanship of the National HALT-CKD Program, which at the primary care level was effective in preventing kidney failure. He has also been an associate professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University, where he oversees the curriculum and clinical review of renal medicine.
Dr Liew Seng Teck Adrian was elected to the fellowship of numerous foreign academic organisations, including the Singapore Academy of Medicine, the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh and the American Society of Nephrology, in recognition of his EXPERIENCE YEARS in nephrology.
Dr Liew Seng Teck Adrian was given the John Mayer Award by the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis in 2020, an award that recognizes people who have made valuable contributions to the field of peritoneal dialysis.
In addition to clinical practice, Dr. Liew is also a member of the Executive Committee and an elected member of the International Society of Nephrology (ISN) Council and chairs the ISN Regional Board for Oceania-Southeast Asia and the ISN Working Group on Renal Disaster Preparedness.
Dr Liew Seng Teck Adrian is also the elected secretary and executive of the International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis and an appointed member of the KDIGO Glomerular and Diabetic Kidney Disease Working Groups.
Dr Liew Seng Teck Adrian chairs the ISN Global Strategy for End-Stage Kidney Disease’s Asian-Pacific Society of Nephrology Guideline Working Group on Diabetic Kidney Disease and Dialysis Sub-group. For different multicentre clinical trials, he is also the national representative and member of the global steering committee.
