Biography

An established figure in Singapore’s cosmetic surgery scene and with over 30 years of experience in both plastic & cosmetic surgery, Dr. Leslie Kuek specializes in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures. He was instrumental in developing the Breast Reconstruction & Facial Paralysis Reconstruction programs in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Singapore General Hospital. He was also a clinical teacher and lecturer in Plastic Surgery to surgical trainees, medical students, and nurses. Before his private practice, Dr. Kuek worked in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Singapore General Hospital from 1986 to 1995. He held various positions, serving as the Singapore Society of Cosmetic (Aesthetic) Surgeons president and the Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons. , in 1989, he won the Young Surgeon’s Award for best scientific research. Currently, a member of the Singapore Academy of Medicine and the former President of the Singapore Society of Cosmetic (Aesthetic) Surgeons, Singapore Association of Plastic Surgeons, Dr. Kuek obtained his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1981 and his advanced surgery degree from the Royal College of Edinburgh & Glasgow in 1986. Dr. Kuek further advanced his skills in plastic surgery training at the Department of Plastic Surgery, University of Tokyo, Japan & the Taipei Chang Gung Hospital in Taiwan. Apart from clinical work, in 2002, he led a volunteer team of Singaporean doctors and nurses to Indonesia to help treat the Bali bomb blast victims. He also participated in the Parkway medical relief mission to Sri Lanka after the Tsunami in December 2004. A senior member of the plastic surgery community, Dr. Kuek is much sought after by TV and Radio Media and local and foreign magazines for his opinions and ideas on Plastic & Cosmetic Surgery issues. In addition, he has given and continues to give numerous lectures and seminars on Plastic Surgery both in Singapore and overseas.
