EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Leong Swan Swan is an oncologist who practices at Singapore’s Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth hospitals.
She cares for cancer patients who have lung, head and neck, breast, colorectal, or gynecological cancers.
Dr Leong was a senior consultant at the National Cancer Centre prior to entering private practice, where he was involved in the clinical management of cancer patients and multidisciplinary treatment, especially for lung cancer and head and neck cancers. She has worked as the head of the National Cancer Centre’s Ambulatory Treatment Unit. - Dr Leong Swan Swan taught medical students as a clinical lecturer and even taught junior staff and nurses.
Dr Leong is an active participant in clinical research, with a primary focus on lung and head and neck cancers. She continues to participate in multicenter clinical trials that provide certain patients the opportunity to receive novel, promising therapies. She also assisted in the establishment and operation of the Singapore Lung Cancer Consortium.
She has published extensively in national and international journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Chest, and Cancer, and has written book chapters on lung cancer staging and care. She was a reviewer for many journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Respirology, and the Singapore Medical Journal, and was recognized for her EXPERIENCE YEARS in lung and other cancers.
She is a member of the American Society of Oncology and the Singapore Society of Oncology, and currently serves on the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer’s Bylaws Committee (IASLC). She is also the Society of Geriatric Oncology’s auditor.
