Dr Leong Jern-Lin has an interest in basic science and cancer research, and was granted a cancer research fellowship abroad. He studied the effects of radiation on EGFR expression in squamous cell carcinoma under the supervision of Professor Randal Weber and Professor Ruth Muschel from the University of Pennsylvania.
In 2005, Dr Leong was the recipient of the Ministry of Health’s Human Manpower Development Programme award to become the first Singaporean doctor to be qualified in Rhinology and Allergy from the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic, USA.
Dr Leong Jern-Lin has a sophisticated Qualification of surgical expertise and is globally known for his contributions to the field of ENT. In specific, allergies to the nose and sinuses. He is one of the pioneers in using minimally invasive endoscopic surgical procedures to treat Sinusitis and skull base tumors. He is certified to provide treatment for nasal allergy with both Injection and Oral Immunotherapy.
Dr Leong Jern-Lin’s academic accomplishments were affirmed by becoming the first Singaporean ENT doctor to have won prizes at both the American Rhinologic Society and the American Society of Paediatric Otolaryngology Annual Meeting (Poster, 1st place).
Dr Leong Jern-Lin is also well trained in teaching. He is interested in the training of not only local ENT trainee surgeons, but also holds seminars and conferences to teach other ENT surgeons as well as surgical residents of the anterior skull base. These countries include Brunei, Malaysia, the United States, and Vietnam.
