Qualification & EXPERIENCE YEARS :

In addition to complex hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery, Dr Lee is formally qualified in liver transplants, kidney transplants and simultaneous pancreatic kidney transplants. He specializes in surgery, major pancreatic surgery and biliary surgery for liver tumours. He is well known for his laparoscopic abilities, especially in gallbladder and gallstone surgery.

Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor was a senior consultant and former director of the Centre for Digestive and Liver Disease (CDLD) at the Singapore General Hospital from 2013 to 2015, prior to joining Gleneagles Hospital. More than 500 patients a day visit the Centre for hepatobiliary, gastroenterological, upper gastrointestinal and colorectal diseases.

Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor is also the co-director of Singapore’s Pancreas Transplant Programme. He is qualified to perform liver, kidney and pancreatic transplantation operations. He is an executive director of Singapore’s Society of Transplantation. He is also a member of the Association of International Pancreas & Islet Transplantation and The Society of Transplantation.

For cholecystectomy and liver resection, Dr Lee is an accomplished laparoscopic surgeon. He has been a guest speaker at several international and regional liver surgery and laparoscopic surgery conferences. In addition, he has done single-site “scarless” surgery on several occasions in live presentations. He is a managing director of the Asian Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons (Singapore).

Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor also supports the introduction of advanced surgical technology that can lead to better results and faster recovery for patients with inoperable liver tumors, such as microwave ablation therapy.

In 2014, while at the Singapore General Hospital, Dr Lee’s contribution to providing the best results for his patients won him the Service Quality Award.

Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor is an assistant adjunct professor at Singapore National University and an assistant adjunct professor at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. Dr Lee is actively engaged in research and has received several grants. He is also actively interested in advances in medical devices and research into islet cells, and has patents registered for his work.

In peer-reviewed articles, Dr Lee has written many publications and contributed to a chapter of a transplant book. He has been featured for his work in the media. He has published several public health Qualification posts as well.
