EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor has received formal training in liver transplantation, kidney transplantation, and dual pancreas-kidney transplantation, as well as complex hepatobiliary pancreatic surgery. He specializes in liver tumor surgery, extensive pancreatic surgery, and biliary surgery. He is well-known for his laparoscopic abilities, especially in the area of gallbladder and gallstone surgery.
Prior to joining Gleneagles Hospital, Dr Lee was a senior consultant and former director of the Singapore General Hospital’s Centre for Digestive and Liver Disease (CDLD) from 2013 to 2015. The Center sees over 500 patients a day for hepatobiliary, gastroenterology, upper GI, and colorectal diseases.
Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor is also the co-director of Singapore’s Pancreas Transplant Program. He is certified to perform liver, kidney, and pancreas transplant surgeries. He serves on the executive committee of the Singapore Society of Transplantation. Additionally, he is a member of the International Pancreas and Islet Transplant Association and The Transplant Society. - Dr Lee Tswen Wen Victor is a professional laparoscopic surgeon with EXPERIENCE YEARS performing cholecystectomy and liver resection. He has been a featured speaker at several international and regional liver surgery and laparoscopic surgery conferences. Additionally, he has demonstrated single-site “scarless” surgery on several occasions in live presentations. He is a member of the Endoscopic & Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia’s executive committee (Singapore).
He is also an advocate for the introduction of advanced surgical technology that can result in improved patient outcomes and recovery times, such as microwave ablation therapy for inoperable liver tumors.
Dr Lee’s commitment to providing the best possible care to his patients won him the Service Quality Award in 2014 while working at Singapore General Hospital.
He is an adjunct assistant professor at the National University of Singapore and a Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School adjunct assistant professor. Dr Lee is an active researcher who has earned several grants. Additionally, he is actively interested in medical device engineering and islet cell science, and his work has been protected by patents.
Dr Lee has written numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and contributed to a book chapter on transplantation. He has received media attention for his work. Additionally, he has written several publications on public health Qualification.
