Biography

Dr. Lee Chin Li is a general surgeon whose interests include complex hole'(laparoscopy) surgery of liver, pancreas, and bile duct cancers and complex pancreatic and liver surgeries. Apart from performing complex surgeries, Dr. Lee’s scope of practice includes skin lumps/abscesses, hemorrhoids, hernia surgery, endoscopy and colonic surgery.

Prior to private practice, Dr. Lee was the founding Head of the Division of Hepatobiliary & Pancreatic Surgery and Consultant General Surgeon at Jurong Health Campus. He was also a Visiting Consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH). Dr. Lee graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, U.K., and undertook his basic and advanced surgical training in Singapore. He further obtained his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, U.K., and a Master in Medicine (Surgery) ) from the National University Singapore (NUS) before being accredited as a specialist upon obtaining his Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Dr. Lee is a member. Dr. Lee frequently visits centers of excellence for Laparoscopic and Hepato-Pancreatic & Biliary (HPB) surgeries in Taiwan, South Korea, and Japan to keep updated with recent advancements in surgeries, and to exchange ideas with renowned experts. An active educator, he is also a clinical lecturer at NUS’Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, and a constant examiner for medical students in the International Hepatopancreatobiliary Association (IHPBA), and a life member of the Hepatopancreatobiliary Association of Singapore (HPBAS). For his effort in education, he was awarded the JurongHealth Excellence in Teaching Award (2015/2016) and Best Tutor Award by NUS’Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Apart from clinical and academic commitments, Dr. Lee is also an advocate for clinical quality and standards. He previously sat in numerous committees and workgroups at the JurongHealth campus. As a clinical lead for the laparoscopic cholecystectomy’Value Driven Outcome (VDO) project, he was appointed by the Ministry of Health, Singapore (MOH) as a member of the laparoscopic Cholecystectomy Clinician Workgroup’.
