Dr Kum Wei Cheong Steven graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2000 with a medical Qualification and subsequently began his surgical training with the Royal College of Surgeons, gaining a Master of Medicine and a Fellowship in 2007.

Dr Kum Wei Cheong Steven completed his postgraduate fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery in 2009 at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney and at the Department of Angiology at the Leipzig Heart Centre. In 2012, at Universita Vita Salute San Raffaele, Milan, he completed a second fellowship in specialized techniques in diabetic limb salvage and wound care techniques.

Dr Kum Wei Cheong Steven has been the director of vascular surgery at Changi General Hospital’s Department of Surgery since 2015, and was subsequently hired as a visiting consultant in 2019.

He is a clinical lecturer at both NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Singapore’s Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and a faculty member for SingHealth for general surgical residents.

Dr Kum Wei Cheong Steven actively assists doctors in Europe and Asia in the area of endovascular procedures. He is frequently invited to many regional and international meetings and forms part of the LINC and VERVE Organizing Committee.

Dr Kum Wei Cheong Steven has a deep interest in clinical studies concentrating on the salvage of diabetic limbs. For non-option critical limb ischemia for which he has written or co-authored several articles, he is proficient in percutaneous deep arterialisation.

For some industries or studies led by doctors, he is the PI or co-PI. He is also a keen innovator, working on many groundbreaking developments at the moment.
