- Dr Karmen Wong Kit Yee has over two decades of clinical EXPERIENCE YEARS as a medical oncologist. Under the HMDP scholarship, she trained in oncology at the National University Hospital (NUH), the National Cancer Centre in Singapore (NCC), and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), all of which have a reputation for health sciences research and patient service.
- She was instrumental in establishing Singapore’s first multidisciplinary breast cancer therapy 20 years ago at NCC, which established a platform for treating other cancer kinds with specialists from various disciplines. Dr Wong also founded the Singapore General Hospital’s (SGH) bone marrow transplantation program in 1997. Additionally, she received an award for her oral presentation at the SGH’s 9th Annual Scientific Meeting in 1988. Additionally, she is currently leading a robust cancer support network inside her office. Additionally, she is a co-investigator in a number of clinical trials evaluating novel cancer treatments. These include the CompLEEment-1 trial, which was presented at the ASCO 2019 (American Society of Medical Oncology) and ESMO 2018 (European Society for Medical Oncology) meetings, respectively.
- Dr Karmen Wong Kit Yee presented the first Asian study on Asian patients’ opinions toward breast cancer therapy at the American Society of Clinical Oncology’s annual meeting in 1999. Additionally, she has authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and chapters in textbooks. She also lectures on cancer treatment advancements in the ASEAN region.
