Biography

She was previously from the National Cancer Center Singapore (NCCS) and specializes in Breast Surgery, including mammotome biopsy, sentinel node biopsy, and oncoplastic techniques. As a lady surgeon, Dr Yap understands and appreciates the place and role that breasts have in a lady’s image and self-esteem. Dr Yap graduated from the medical school of the  National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1994, trained in General Surgery in Singapore, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. She has completed a breast fellowship at the Ontario Cancer Institute, Princess Margaret Hospital, University of Singapore. She received a Master of Science from NUS in 2009 for her research thesis on breast cancer. She received a Master of Science from NUS in 2009 for her research thesis on breast cancer. Dr Yap’s specialty interests are mammotome biopsy, oncoplastic techniques, and sentinel node biopsy.
