Dr. John Hsiang is a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with more than 15 years of clinical experience. He spent more than five years in the Singhealth cluster serving in the Gastroenterology Department at Sengkang General Hospital. Dr. Hsiang graduated from Otago Medical School, New Zealand, in 2003, completed his specialist training at the end of 2012, and obtained the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Gastroenterology. In 2013, he spent two years as a visiting scholar at the prestigious gastroenterology unit at the Prince of Wales Hospital, Hong Kong. He furthered his research career to complete a doctorate in liver disease research under his world-renowned mentor, Professor Henry Chan. Dr. Hsiang has special clinical interests in managing fatty liver disease, viral hepatitis, Helicobacter pylori infection, and effects of the gut microbiome on irritable bowel syndrome and has extensive experience in gastrointestinal cancer screening.

Since Dr. Hsiang can speak fluent Mandarin and Hokkien, it helps put his patients at ease as he explains complex medical conditions. He provides patient education seminars and radio talk shows in fluent mandarin. He believes in empowering his patients with more knowledge so that, in turn, they can know more about their own medical condition so that the patient can be in control with the doctor’s guidance. He believes patients should walk out of the clinic with more confidence and a clear understanding of managing their medical conditions.

Academically, Dr. Hsiang has published over 25 studies with more than 600 citations in the areas of hepatitis B, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, H.pylori infection, colon polypectomy, and hepatitis C. Other than his interests in clinical research, Dr. Hsiang has held the position of adjunct assistant professor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and Duke-NUS medical students over the years. He is also a reviewer for several internationally renowned gastroenterology and hepatology journals. Currently, he is on the editorial board for the journal HepatoDr John Law is a consultant respiratory physician and intensivist from The Respiratory Practice. He is well-versed in common respiratory conditions such as chronic cough, lung infection, and lung cancer and has special interests in COPD and asthma. His other area of ​​interest is intensive care medicine and he is experienced with the management of complex ICU cases. Prior to private practice, he worked as a consultant at the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at Changi General Hospital.

Dr Law graduated from the University of Melbourne, Australia in 2002 and obtained the MRCP (UK) in 2008. He then went on to specialty training in Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine and was accredited by the Specialist Accreditation Board as a Specialist in Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine. He had received numerous awards from Singhealth in recognition of his outstanding performance during specialty training. He was awarded Singhealth Best Medical Officer Award in 2007, and 2009 and Singhealth Best Registrar Award in 2010, and 2011.

In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Law is also a passionate teacher. He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate School of Medicine and a Clinical Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was also a core faculty member in the Singhealth Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr Law is currently a Board Member of the Respiratory Chapter at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
