Dr Jaya Prakash V earned his medical Qualification from Madras Medical College in Chennai in 2006, and his post-graduate Qualification (MD Ophthalmology) from the prestigious Dr. RP Centre for Ophthalmic Sciences, All India Hospital of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi in 2009.

In addition, he completed his DNB Ophthalmology in 2010 and his FICO Ophthalmology (Advanced) in 2012. In 2010, he completed his FAICO in Uvea, Comprehensive Ophthalmology in 2011, and Vitreoretinal in 2013. From 2009 to 2011, he was a Senior Resident in Vitreoretinal and Pediatric Ophthalmology at Guru Nanak Eye Centre, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi.

From 2011 to 2014, he was a Research and Clinical Fellow in Vitreoretinal at Vision Research Foundation and Medical Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya. Following that, he worked as an Associate Consultant in the Vitreoretinal department at Sankara Nethralaya. He is currently employed as a Consultant in the Vitreoretinal department at Sankara Nethralaya.

Dr Jaya Prakash V has papers published in national and international journals, and he has given invited talks at national and international conferences. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the All India Ophthalmological Society (AIOS), the Vitreoretinal Society of India (VRSI), the Delhi Ophthalmological Society (DOS), the Tamil Nadu Ophthalmological Association (TNOA), the Ocular Trauma Society of India (OTSI), the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ESCRS), and Euretina.

He has earned several scholarships, including the Saraswati Memorial Scholarship, the Gandhi Memorial Scholarship, and the Chief Minister’s Scholarship. He received the Thompson Memorial Medal in Anatomy, the Von Geyzal Prize in Biochemistry, and the University’s top rank in Physiology.
