Dr Hsieh Wen-Son is a specialist in the treatment of different types of cancers and is involved in the development of new cancer diagnostics and anti-cancer therapies that are molecularly targeted. In addition, he is the Medical Director of International Specialists in Cancer. His vision for International Cancer Specialists is to provide accessible and caring, patient-centered, cutting-edge cancer care.
Born in Taiwan, Dr Hsieh Wen-Son was educated in the United States and the United Kingdom and grew up in the United States. At Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana, he attended college, graduating summa cum laude with a Qualification in Neuroscience. He went on to study philosophy and psychology on a prestigious Rhodes Scholarship at Oxford University, England. He then completed his medical training at some of the world’s best academic institutions, including a medical Qualification from the School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins University, an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University, and a medical oncology fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Hsieh is accredited by the American Internal Medicine Board of Internal Medicine and Medical Oncology.
Dr Hsieh Wen-Son was involved in patient care, teaching, and research after completing his medical training in his roles as a Medical Oncology Consultant, Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Center, and Assistant Professor of Oncology, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
Since 2001, Dr. Hsieh has been employed in Singapore and has been involved in the treatment and development of new cancer therapies for patients. He has led a variety of international studies involving centers in Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, and the United States, investigating experimental treatments for nasopharyngeal carcinoma, with a research focus in molecularly targeted cancer therapies and immunotherapy.
Dr Hsieh Wen-Son has written and lectured widely at regional and international medical and science conferences in a variety of scientific journals, abstracts, and book chapters. Moreover, he has received a number of awards, including a fellowship from the Cure for Lymphoma Foundation and a Rhodes Scholarship.
