EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Hitendra K Doshi is an orthopaedic surgeon in Singapore. He is affiliated with Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. Apart from general orthopaedics, he has a strong interest in the care and management of patients with complicated fractures and those needing joint replacement, with an emphasis on the elderly.
Dr HK Doshi graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master of Medicine (Orthopaedic Surgery) in 2005 and completed his orthopaedic training in 2009. He is a Fellow of both the Edinburgh Royal College of Surgeons and the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
The International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology awarded Dr HK Doshi a fellowship in trauma and arthroplasty in Germany (SICOT). He was also awarded a fellowship in complex trauma by the AO Trauma Qualification in Fribourg, Switzerland. - Dr Hitendra K Doshi completed a clinical fellowship in Adult Trauma and Joint Replacement Surgery at Unfall Chirugie, Innsbruck University Hospital, Austria, under the mentorship of Professor Michael Blauth, as well as a fellowship in Geriatric Fracture Management (Orthogeriatrics).
Dr HK Doshi has been invited to lecture and chair numerous international conferences, including those in the United Kingdom, Czech Republic, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Switzerland, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Indonesia. He is also a faculty member of the AO Qualification and the International Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology’s National Representative (SICOT).
Dr HK Doshi was a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at Tan Tock Seng Hospital prior to establishing his private practice. He was instrumental in establishing and implementing Singapore’s first geriatric hip fracture treatment pathway. As a senior clinical lecturer at the National University of Singapore and an assistant professor at Nanyang Technology University’s Lee Kong Chian Medical School, he was also actively involved in teaching medical students and residents in orthopaedic training.
Dr HK Doshi has written extensively in scientific journals on orthopaedic trauma and geriatric fracture treatment in addition to his clinical and teaching activities.
Dr HK Doshi was a member of Mercy Relief’s disaster response team that provided humanitarian assistance to victims of the 2006 earthquake in Central Java, Indonesia, and was recognized with a Health Award for his outstanding work in medical relief efforts. Dr Doshi, a seasoned humanitarian, continues to participate in daily social service events, including public health talks.
