Qualification & EXPERIENCE YEARS :

Dr Goh Yaw Chong is a general surgeon in Upper Gastrointesinal and Laparoscopic Surgery, Endoscopy and Endoluminal Therapy with sub-Expert In practice. He graduated in 1992 from the Faculty of Medicine, Singapore National University. He qualified in surgery and received a fellowship in 1996 from the Edinburgh Royal College of Surgeons. He received further training in Edinburgh, United Kingdom, in the gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary surgery sub-Expert In areas at the Department of Clinical Surgery, Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, as well as in Glasgow in laparoscopic biliary surgery. He also received a PhD in Immunology, funded by a scholarship from the NMRC-Totalistor Board. He returned in 2005 to the General Surgery Department, Singapore General Hospital.

Dr Goh Yaw Chong has been awarded the long service award for more than 20 years of public service by Singapore General Hospital. He retains his role with SGH as Visiting Senior Advisor to the Upper GI & Bariatric Surgery Department, where he continues to train endoscopic diagnostic and therapeutic surgeons.

Dr Goh Yaw Chong is a teacher in the Life Support Advance Trauma (ATLS). He also holds a teaching position with the Department of Physiology of the National University of Singapore, Faculty of Medicine.

Dr Goh Yaw Chong was an instructor for the Cambodia Calmette Hospital Trauma Workshop of the Singapore International Foundation in 2011, and the Singhealth and Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Trauma Workshop in 2012.
