Dr. Francis Chan is a radiation oncologist with over 20 years of experience in both medical and radiation oncology. His expertise spans a range of cancers such as gastrointestinal cancer and soft tissue sarcoma with a special interest in gynecological conditions and pediatrics. Prior to private practice, Dr. Chin spent over two decades at the National Cancer Center in Singapore. Since 2014, he has been a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He is also on the steering committee for the VIVA-KKH Pediatric Brain and Solid Tumor Program. As an ASEAN and Chevening scholar, Dr. Chin was awarded numerous scholarships from the Singapore and United Kingdom (U.K.) government. One of his greatest highlights was the sponsorship of his Master of Science in Radiation Biology by the European Union, which he completed with distinction. Dr. Chin was the first student from Asia to attend the prestigious course set up to groom experts in radiation biology and radiation oncology. Dr. Chin is passionate about the continual improvement of radiation oncology and has led several Quality Assurance Improvement projects teams such as the radiation proton development management team. He also holds various academic appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor at SingHealth DUKE-NUS Medical School’s Oncology Academic Clinical Program (ACP) and Pediatrics ACP since 2015. He is an editorial board member of the Royal College of Radiologists in the U.K. with a published chapter on radiation poisoning in the Oxford Textbook of Critical Care (Second Edition). Dr. Chin strongly believes in the continued development of radiation oncology techniques and technology as they are essential in helping cancer patients in Singapore and the world. Dr Chin’s specialty interests are breast, upper and lower gastrointestinal, gynecology, pediatric oncology, and sarcomas.
