• Dr Daniel Chan Boon Yeow earned an honors Qualification in 2000 from the National University of Singapore (NUS) School of Medicine. He continued his Qualification in internal medicine, earning the Member of the Royal College of Physicians; MRCP (UK) designation in 2004. He completed his training as a medical oncology expert at Singapore’s National University Cancer Hospital. He completed his final year of fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in the United States of America. He developed his clinical EXPERIENCE YEARS in medical oncology at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai under an endowment grant from the National University Hospital of Singapore, working with Dr Ronald Natale (lung cancer), Dr Michael Lill (lymphoma), Dr Charles Forscher (sarcoma), and Dr Albert Lai (neuro-oncology). He also conducted research in the laboratory of Professor Phillip Koeffler, a world-renowned haematologist-oncologist, as part of a National Medical Research Council Overseas Fellowship.
• After returning to Singapore, he worked as a consultant in medical oncology at the National University Cancer Hospital and as the director of undergraduate Qualification (medical oncology) at the National University of Singapore. He was also actively involved in cancer research at the Cancer Science Hospital Singapore, where he had a new investigator award for triple negative breast cancer from the National Medical Research Council.
• In October 2014, Dr Daniel Chan Boon Yeow became the first physician in South Asia to employ the PD-1 inhibitor immunotherapy medication (Pembrolizumab) in clinical practice.
