Dr Chua Soo Yong is a doctor who studies orthopaedics and is a specialist in spinal surgery.
Dr Chua Soo Yong is competent in all areas of spinal surgery including sub-occipital and thoracic as well as cervical, lumbo-sacral and pelvic fusions. He specializes in spinal surgery and is in high demand for his EXPERIENCE YEARS in complex spinal disorders.
Dr Chua Soo Yong is a specialist in many other non-spinal orthopaedic disorders as well as also in spinal surgery. His clinical areas of focus include spinal cord injury, compression and trauma, and arthritic degenerative disease.
Dr Chua Soo Yong completed his surgical training in Singapore and was educated in the latest spinal surgery techniques at the University of Toronto after earning a Health Manpower Development Program scholarship from the Ministry of Health. In addition to his surgical EXPERIENCE YEARS , he also took an interest in spinal cord injury and regeneration research and published many notable articles in prominent journals on the subject. He is also currently on the editorial board of numerous journals.
Upon returning from a fellowship with the Depuy-Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association, he was awarded a traveling fellowship with the same body. After he moved into the Changi General Hospital, he continued to work in the Changi Spine Center Dr Chua claims that the best standard of treatment can be delivered by polite and approachable contact. His friendly disposition has gained him a reputation with patients and has received him numerous awards, including the Best Service Award at the Changi General Hospital.
Dr Chua Soo Yong dedicates his free time to providing healthcare to his patients and his academic appointments as a member of the AOSpine faculty. He maintains partnerships with many different universities including Peking Union Medical Campus in Beijing and the University of Toronto.
