Dr Chopra Akhil is an oncologist in Singapore, where he practices at Gleneagles Hospital and Mount Elizabeth Hospital Novena. His particular interests include treating cancers of the lung, breast, and stomach, as well as the rectum, liver, prostate, kidney, testicular, and bladder. He is capable of treating gynecological cancers such as ovarian, uterine/cervical, and lymphomas, as well as chronic leukemia (multiple myeloma). Dr Chopra is also skilled in the treatment of more uncommon cancers such as sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumors.
Dr Chopra Akhil was a senior consultant in medical oncology at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital prior to entering private practice. As a senior specialist in cancer medicine, he has managed cancer patients from India, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States of America, as well as patients from Europe and Asia, including Bangladesh, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Dr Chopra Akhil is one of the authors of a clinical trial in liver cancer that involves several regional cancer centers (hepatocellular cancer). Additionally, he is a co-author on a significant publication in the Journal of Clinical Oncology that examines the function of nivolumab in advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a common type of cancer in Southeast Asia. Apart from his clinical and academic work, he has taught medical students from the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine in Singapore, as well as medical residents and students from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, United States of America. Additionally, he served as the program director for the National Healthcare Group’s medical oncology training program from 2012 to April 2017.
