Dr Chopra Akhil is an oncologist at Gleneagles Hospital and Novena Hospital in Mount Elizabeth, Singapore.

His particular interest is in the treatment of different forms of cancer, including lung cancer, breast cancer, cancer of the stomach, and cancer of the rectum, liver, prostate, kidney, testicular, and bladder.

Gynaecologic cancers such as ovarian and uterine/cervical cancers, lymphomas and chronic leukaemia may be handled (multiple myeloma). In the treatment of more rare cancers such as sarcoma and neuroendocrine tumors, Dr Chopra is also EXPERIENCE YEARS d.

Dr Chopra Akhil was a senior medical oncology consultant at Johns Hopkins Singapore and Tan Tock Seng Hospital prior to going into private practice.

As a senior cancer medicine professional, he has EXPERIENCE YEARS treating cancer patients from India, the United Arab Emirates, the United States, as well as patients from countries in Europe and Asia, including Bangladesh, Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Dr Chopra Akhil is one of the authors of a clinical trial involving numerous regional liver cancer centers (hepatocellular cancer). He is also a co-author of a major publication in the Journal of Clinical Oncology on the role of nivolumab in Southeast Asia’s advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma, a common cancer.

He has been active in the teaching of medical students from the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, as well as medical residents and students from Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA, in addition to his clinical and academic work.

Dr Chopra Akhil was also the program director for the medical oncology training program of the National Healthcare Association from its inception in 2012 to April 2017. The newspapers, including The Straits Times and Channel NewsAsia, have covered his work as a clinician and researcher.
