Dr Chong Kian Chun graduated from National University of Singapore with Qualifications in medicine, surgery (MBBS). He subsequently graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS), earning a Master of Medicine in Orthopaedics (MMed) and was subsequently admitted into the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (Orthopaedics). He studied sports orthopaedics at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Before joining Island Orthopaedic Consultants, Dr Chong worked at many other private and public institutions in Singapore as an orthopaedic surgeon and the director of orthopaedic sports facilities, caring for patients with sports injuries.
Dr Chong Kian Chun is an orthopedic surgeon who is part of a committee responsible for all orthopedic surgeons in Singapore’s training program. He was elected to the 2009 Singapore Orthopaedic Association Executive committee and acted as the Secretary. Dr Chong Kian Chun also previously taught at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. Because of his commitment to the field of arthroscopic surgery, he has taught at several seminars on arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery.
He is in the Society for the Study of Hip Arthroscopy and also belongs to the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr Chong’s sub-Expert In area is minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures, surgical treatment of knee and hip injuries, as well as athletic-related injuries. Dr. Lee is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon with a particular interest in hip arthroscopy.
