Dr Chng Nai Wee practices ophthalmology and is affiliated to Mount Elizabeth Hospital, Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Gleneagles Hospital and Parkway East Hospital in Singapore. His clinical interests include cataract surgery, refractive glaucoma, LASIK, and presbyopia therapy.
Dr Chng Nai Wee graduated in medicine, surgery, and obstetrics from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and National University of Ireland. He won The Children’s Hospital, the French O’Carroll Medal for Best Thesis, and The National Family Doctor of the Year Award. He is board certified in the US and hold full licensure to practice in Singapore, Hong Kong, and Ireland.
Dr Chng Nai Wee had a Master’s Qualification in Ophthalmology, received a Master’s Qualification from the National University of Singapore, and was appointed a Clinical Instructor in the Faculty of Medicine. He trained under the guidance of a specialist in ophthalmology. Dr Chng obtained grants from the Academy of Medicine in Singapore, Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow, College of Surgeons in Hong Kong, and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. He is also a certified aesthetician and has a diploma in aesthetic medicine.
The author is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at the National Eye Centre and had worked as a Consultant Ophthalmologist in the Cataract and Refractive Lens Surgery facilities. He founded the Wet Laboratory Training Center, and he trained his students in Ophthalmic Microsurgery and Cataract Surgery, as well as giving classes on eye surgery at the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
Dr Chng Nai Wee has won several awards for his research including Best Research Paper Award and Research Presentations at the Singapore-Malaysia Ophthalmology Meeting and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and the European Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons. Dr Chng joined as the Head of Cosmetic and Systematic Ophthalmological Procedures in 2009.
