EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Chia Yin Nin is a gynaecological oncologist with a private practice in Singapore’s Gleneagles Hospital. Her clinical Expert In covers the detection and treatment of gynecological cancers, including those of the cervix, uterus, ovary, fallopian tubes, and vulva, as well as precancerous gynecological diseases. Additionally, abnormal pap smears, heavy menstruation, irregular menstruation, menstrual cramps, ovarian cysts, uterine prolapse (womb sagging), and vaginal infections are possible.
Dr Chia Yin Nin has extensive EXPERIENCE YEARS performing complex pelvic operations, including open, laparoscopic (keyhole), and robotic procedures. In 2011, she performed Singapore’s first laparoscopic radical hysterectomy.
Dr Chia Yin Nin graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Qualification. She received the Hoops Medal for outstanding achievement in obstetrics and gynecology and the Singapore Medical Association’s Bronze medal for outstanding academic achievement in her MBBS. She earned Qualification in gynecology oncology from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in 2008. - Dr Chia previously served as deputy head of the Department of Gynaecological Oncology and head of the Department of Gynaecological Oncology’s gynaecological cancer unit at the Kandang Kerbau Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH).
Dr Chia is the president of the Singapore Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology and a council member of the College of Obstetrics and Gynecology’s gynaecology oncology subsection. She is a founding member of the Asian Society of Gynecologic Oncology and a board member. Dr Chia is also a member of the Journal of Gynaecologic Oncology’s editorial board.
Apart from clinical practice, Dr Chia served as an adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS Medical School in Singapore, where she won multiple teaching awards for her outstanding instruction.
Dr Chia’s scientific interests include gynecological cancer and human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines, and she has participated in several landmark clinical trials related to these topics. For example, she served as the principal investigator for the Bayer ovarian cancer 12007 multicenter research.
