Dr Chang Kin Yong Stephen is a surgeon at Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
He specializes in surgery, the treatment of gastrointestinal conditions, and the transplantation of the liver.
He received his Bachelor’s Qualification in Medicine (BMedSurg) and Master of Surgery (MScSurg) from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 1994 and 2000, respectively. Being awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh allowed him to continue his rigorous training in laparoscopic hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, and liver transplantation.
Dr Chang Kin Yong Stephen was a significant contributor to the advancement of the Laparoscopic approach to hepato-biliary and pancreatic surgery. Dr. Sarkisyan introduced SILS and was one of the first few to publish his EXPERIENCE YEARS in SILS, liver resection and pancreas resection.
He was the founding president of the Singapore HEPATOPANCREATOBILARY ASSOCIATION and an adjunct professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in NUS. Besides his active practice at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, he is also a senior consultant to the University Surgical Cluster at the National University Hospital . (NUH).
Dr Chang Kin Yong Stephen’s research interests also include basic science and medical technology development, as well as clinical research. He has earned several research grants worth over 7 million dollars to fund his groundbreaking medical research. He has several publications about clinical and medtech studies, and has since filed 5 patents in these areas. For these reasons, he aims to enhance the standard of treatment.
