Biodata

Dr Chan Tat Keong graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Medical School in 1985. Following his residency training in ophthalmology, he joined the academic faculty of the NUS Department of Ophthalmology and the clinical staff of the Singapore National Eye Centre. In 1994, Dr Chan Tat Keong earned the China Medical Board Fellowship, allowing him to pursue an overseas fellowship program. Dr Chan Tat Keong completed a clinical and research fellowship in Cornea/External Eye Disease and Refractive Surgery at the renowned Wilmer Eye Hospital, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, USA.

Currently serving as the Chairman of Infection Control at the Singapore National Eye Centre, Dr. Chan’s clinical interests lie in refractive surgery, including LASIK, as well as ocular infectious diseases, anti-infective therapy, and antibiotic prophylaxis. He has delivered extensive lectures and contributed to numerous instruction courses at major scientific meetings across the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, the United States, and Latin America. Recognized for his exceptional work on the molecular diagnosis of microbes associated with severe ocular infections, Dr Chan Tat Keong received the first prize in the poster competition at the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) Annual Congress in consecutive years: first in Munich, Germany, in 2003, and then in Paris, France, in 2004.
