Dr Chan Boon Min Joy is the senior consultant and medical director of the Singapore International Eye Cataract and Retina Centre at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre.
Dr Chan Boon Min Joy was formerly an ophthalmology consultant at the Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Jurong Medical Centre. She also kept a career as an ophthalmologist by National University Hospital.
Dr Chan Boon Min Joy earned his bachelor’s Qualification from the Faculty of Medicine, National University of Singapore in 2004. She won the gold and book prizes among ophthalmology journals in 2003. She got her biomedical engineering Qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and her Master’s Qualification in Public Health from the Academy of Medicine of Singapore.
Dr Chan completed her basic and advanced Expert In training at the National Eye Centre in 2011, and her Expert In certification was issued in 2012 at National University Hospital. She won the prize for academic medicine creation in 2013.
Dr Chan was at NUS as a Clinical Lecturer and as a Masters student in hospital administration. She has taught several classes at postgraduate level in many surgical specialties, including both cataract and ophthalmic surgery.
Dr Chan Boon Min Joy has written widely on a wide variety of research topics over the past twenty years including novel ophthalmic imaging and methods for treating eyelid laxity, as well as unusual eye disorders. She has given talks at both local and international Qualificational conferences on a number of topics related to ophthalmology.
Dr Chan operated the Oculoplastic Service at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and had oversight on a number of oculoplastic conditions. She is also a specialist cataract surgeon and has extensive EXPERIENCE YEARS with various procedures like cataract surgery and emerging developments including femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery and computer-assisted intraocular lens implantation.
