After obtaining my undergraduate Qualification (MBBS) from kilpauk Medical College, Chennai,
I left to UK for my postgraduate training and stayed there for 10 years.
I undertook my Paediatric and Pulmonology (Respiratory Medicine) training in Cambridge University Hospital, UK.
My area of expertise is treating children with asthma and allergic airway disease.
I also routinely perform Paediatric Fibreoptic bronchoscopy.
I have been working as a consultant Paediatric Pulmonologist at Apollo Children’s hospital, Chennai since October 2014.

I have presented in National and International paediatric conferences in United Kingdom (British Paediatric Respiratory Society – BPRS).
I have also published original articles as a first author in high quality International peer reviewed journals.

Dr Ayesha Shahnaz is a renowned pediatric pulmonologist at Apollo Children’s Hospitals in Chennai. She is board-certified in paediatric pulmonology and is well-known for treating children with asthma and allergic airway disease. She is noted for providing therapies such as paediatric fibreoptic bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, pertussis vaccination, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, and body plethysmography during her more than decade-long medical career.
