Biodata
Dr Angeline Anning Yong is a visiting consultant dermatologist with over 15 EXPERIENCE YEARS YEARS at Thomson Medical Centre. She received the Eli-Lily Gold Medal and the Class of 1975 book prize for obstetrics & gynecology upon graduation from the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2005 with the highest distinction. In 2013, the Ministry of Health (MOH) awarded her a Certificate of Specialist Accreditation in Dermatology upon completion of her dermatologist specialist training at NSC.
Her honors include the Healthcare Humanity Award (2011) for her humanitarian efforts overseas & the National Skin Centre Service Champion Gold Award (2012) for exemplary patient care.
Dr Angeline Anning Yong was awarded a Health Manpower Development Programme Scholarship to pursue a one-year fellowship at the world-renowned St John’s Hospital of Dermatology (London), where she was trained in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and cutaneous reconstruction in addition to other dermatologic surgery and laser procedures.
Dr. Yong received additional sub expert In training in Hair Transplantation and cosmetic and Procedural Dermatology during a second fellowship at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. She is registered to practice medicine by the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC), the Singapore Medical Council (SMC), and the USA’s Qualificational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG), making her one of only a handful of doctors in Singapore registered to practice medicine on three continents. Dr. Yong holds a master’s Qualification in public health from Harvard University.
Dr Angeline Anning Yong joined the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), the leading American body that regulates fellowship-trained Mohs micrographic surgeons, as the first Singaporean dermatologist with the necessary fellowship training.
Dr. Yong founded and directed the hair transplantation service at the National Skin Centre (NSC) using her expertise in the medical treatment of hair loss and surgical restoration. She is an expert in every aspect of dermatological surgery, including laser surgery, hair transplantation, and Mohs micrographic surgery.
She was the only dermatologist who was accredited to perform both Mohs Micrographic Surgery & hair transplants at the National Skin Centre. In addition, her prior position as a key member of the NSC’s dermatologic surgery and laser division, as well as her extensive global training in both Asian and Caucasian skin types, have enabled her to develop expertise in the use of various laser modalities to treat different skin types.
In addition to her medical expertise, Dr. Yong is an enthusiastic educator. She is the NSC-Dermatological Society Singapore (DSS) Certificate of the Competence (COC) trainer for botulinum toxin & filler injections. In addition to contributing to and reviewing international journals regularly, she is a key opinion leader in the disciplines of cosmetic and laser dermatology. Her research interests include anti-aging medicine, management and imaging of skin cancer, hair disorders, dermatological surgery, and lasers.
