EXPERIENCE YEARS
- Dr Ang Cher Siang Peter is a medical oncologist at Singapore’s Gleneagles and Mount Elizabeth hospitals.
Prior to entering private practice, he worked as a senior consultant medical oncologist and director of the National Cancer Centre’s Cancer Qualification Service in 2004. Dr Ang also served as a visiting consultant at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, where he assisted in the establishment of the cancer genetics program, which sees patients with breast, ovarian, and other gynecological cancers.
In 2002, he led the breast cancer workgroup for the National Cancer Centre and the SingHealth cluster as the lead cancer specialist. In 2013, he collaborated with his team of doctors to develop the cluster breast cancer health management plan, integrating the most up-to-date breast cancer information. - In 2004, Dr Ang Cher Siang Peter was the programme leader for SingHealth’s Cancer Service Development Line’s Public Cancer Qualification. In 2005, he received the National Excellent Service Award (EXSA) for clinical work. Dr Ang Cher Siang Peter is dedicated to delivering detailed oncology information and exceptional treatment to patients diagnosed with a variety of cancers, including lung cancer, stomach cancer, colorectal cancer, lymphoma, kidney cancer, breast cancer, ovary cancer, uterus cancer, and cervix cancer.
He has a long history of clinical and translational studies in breast, lung, and colorectal cancers, as well as cancer genetics. His dissertation has been published in a variety of national and international journals, including the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Chest, Lancet Oncology, Seminars in Oncology, and Respiratory Medicine. Additionally, he was the editor and primary author of a breast cancer book titled “Illustrative Cases of Breast Cancer.” He regularly lectures in Singapore and abroad.
Dr Ang Cher Siang Peter is currently a visiting consultant at the National Cancer Centre and is interested in both research and Qualification. He was a clinical instructor at the National University of Singapore and a speaker for the Breast Cancer Foundation, the Association of Women Physicians in Singapore, and the Singapore Cancer Society.
Dr Ang was invited to speak at the first Singapore Medical Oncology Review Course in 2007 and the first regional Asian Oncology Summit in 2009. Additionally, he served as a regional keynote speaker at the 2010 Asia Breast Cancer Collaborative Group Meeting and the Guangzhou International Breast Cancer Symposium.
