Dr Ang Beng Chongwas the first director of the division of vitreo-retinal surgery at National University Hospital.
Dr Ang Beng Chong spoke at international meetings in various places including San Diego, Baden-Baden and Kyoto, and he also taught in Beijing and Tianjin in China. He also was responsible for coordinating several international meetings of microsurgery, cataract surgery and vitreo-retinal surgery.
Dr Angel received the grant from the Colombo Plan to move to Sydney Eye Hospital in 1974.
In 2006, Fison co-authored a new revision to the 3rd edition of Retinal Detachment Surgery.
She was awarded the Silver Medal of the Singapore National Eye Centre in 1993, Gold Medal of the Singapore National Eye Centre in 1997, and Lifetime Service Medal of the Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons in 2005.
