Dr Amarender Singh Puri serves as Vice Chairman of the Hospital of Digestive and Hepatobiliary Sciences at Medanta Gurugram. Dr. Puri earned his MBBS and MD (Internal Medicine) Qualifications from Christian Medical College in Ludhiana. Following that, he served as a Lecturer in Medicine at CMC, Ludhiana (Panjab University) for two years before joining DM (Gastroenterology).
After receiving his DM (Gastroenterology) from SGPGI, Lucknow in 1992, Dr. Puri joined GB Pant Hospital in Delhi as an Associate Professor of Gastroenterology and rose to the position of Professor & Head of Medical Gastroenterology Department, where he worked for more than two decades before joining Medanta.
Dr. Puri has received several awards, including the Times Healthcare Award in 2017 and the Delhi Government State Award for Meritorious Service in 2014. He has a number of books, essays, and chapters that have appeared in national and foreign papers and journals.
