Dr Alka Kriplani has been awarded the Padma Shri for 2015. She is a qualified Obstetrician and Gynecologist affiliated with the All India Hospital of Medical Sciences in Delhi. The President of India awarded her the Dr. B. C. Roy National Award for 2007 in recognition of her contributions as an Eminent Medical Teacher.
For more than a decade, she was the Editor of the Asian Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She has over 269 scientific publications and 271 abstract publications in national and foreign journals to her credit. She has written two books and contributed 53 chapters to others.
Dr. Alka Kriplani has also received several awards, including the C L Jhaveri Award (FOGSI 1995), the K P Tamaskar Award (FOGSI 2002), the Dr. Neera Agarwal Gold Medal (AOGD 1999), and the Jagadiswari Mishra Award (FOGSI 2006), among others. Her areas of expertise include Reproductive Endocrinology and Gynecological Endoscopy. She frequently teaches endoscopy training courses at AIIMS.
