Professional Statement
Dr Abha Mashruwala completed the Medical Graduate Course (M.B.B.S) at N.K.P Salve Medical College, Research Center, and Lata Mangeshkar Hospital Nagpur (Maharashtra) in 2005 and the Post Graduate (DNB) course at Sadhuram Eye Hospital, Lions Club of Hyderabad in 2010.
She completed a Long Term Glaucoma Fellowship at the prestigious Aravind Eye Hospital, Pondicherry (March 2012—February 2014), where she participated in ongoing research projects as well as in postgraduate medical and surgical training.
During her graduation and fellowship program, she participated in several cataracts and school eye screening camps.
Dr Abha Mukund Mashruwala completed a short-term Phacoemulsification training program in the same hospital for 1 month. She has worked as a junior consultant at Sadhuram Eye Hospital, Hyderabad Cataract, and Glaucoma for 2 years (2014-2016).
She joined Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai in August 2016 as an Associate Consultant and worked for 15 months at S.N Main Campus in the Glaucoma Department, then began working at the CUSSN Alandur branch in Glaucoma and Cataract Facilities, and was promoted to Consultant in 2019.
She was the recipient of the 1st prize at the 28th Annual C.M.E., Sarojnidevi Eye Hospital, Hyderabad 2009.
She was a Faculty AIOS-PG REFRESHER COURSE 2013-14, and she was given the same prize.
She delivered posters and videos at state and national conferences, as well as co-authored papers presented at AAO 2015.
She is actively interested in the teaching of postgraduate students and fellow Glaucoma students in Sankara Nethralya.
