Assoc Prof Bee Yong Mong
Assoc Prof Bee Yong Mong is Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Endocrinology at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and Clinical Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Singapore. He is also the vice-president of Diabetes Singapore. Dr Bee graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) Medical School and completed his specialist training in Endocrinology at SGH. In 2008, he was awarded the Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship by the Ministry of Health and spent a year training at Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston, USA.
Dr. Bee’s main clinical interest is in the management of diabetes mellitus and lipid disorders. His academic research covers a wide range of areas including diabetes prevention, artificial intelligence-enabled risk prediction of diabetic complications and disease registries. He founded the SingHealth Diabetes Registry (SDR) in 2016, a multi-institutional diabetes database built from SingHealth’s electronic medical record system. He is also the principal investigator of the A*STAR-funded Diabetes Clinic of the Future (DCOF) program, which aims to develop solutions using data analytics and digital technologies to improve personalized care and outcomes for Singapore’s multi-ethnic diabetes population.
