The Ministry of Health, Singapore, awarded him the Health Workforce Development Program scholarship to undergo more specialization in Kidney Transplantation. He studied from 1999 to 2000 in Vancouver under Dr David Landsberg and Dr Paul Keown. Dr Pary Sivaraman returned to Singapore in 2000 and has been instrumental in carrying out numerous complex transplants, including cross-match positive kidney transplantation, kidney recipients at high medical risk, etc. He also participated very closely in the first kidney transplantation of the Asian bone marrow, which resulted in a successful kidney transplantation without long-term immunosuppression.

Dr Pary Sivaraman has handled many complex post-transplant issues successfully over the years, such as hepatitis C, lymphoproliferative disorder, chronic diseases, etc. Because of his immense familiarity with renal problems, he was called upon to provide almost full assistance to prospective candidates for liver transplantation before and after liver transplantation for the management of renal problems.

Dr Pary Sivaraman has also treated different forms of immune-mediated kidney diseases, including complex lupus nephritis, membranous nephritis, FSGS, IgA nephropathy, etc., with his good expertise, understanding and EXPERIENCE YEARS in the use of immune-manipulating drugs.

Dr Pary Sivaraman has helped to save and restore the renal condition of many such patients with his EXPERIENCE YEARS and abilities in cutting edge therapies. Dr Pary was also actively active in funding charity-based dialysis services. Since 2003, he has been the nephrologist in charge of the People’s Dialysis Centre (a Khoo Foundation-managed charity-based hemodialysis program). He has helped to treat many medically difficult and elderly haemodialysis patients at this facility. He has also been actively involved in treating patients with haemodialysis at one of the centres operated by another Kidney Dialysis Foundation-managed charity-based dialysis program.

Dr Pary was particularly interested in delivering an evidence-based approach to the practice of medicine during his time at the National University Hospital.
