Professional Statement
Dr V Jagadeesh is a Consultant Anesthesiologist at Sankara Nethralaya’s Department of Anesthesiology. In 1977, he received his M.B.B.S. from Madras University, and in 1981 and 1983, he received his D.A. and M.D. in Anesthesiology, respectively.
He served as an Asst Surgeon Anesthesiologist at E.S.I Hospital in K. K Nagar, Chennai, from April 1983 to July 1984. He then worked as a Tutor in Anesthesia at the Govt RM Hospital Thanjavur from July 1984 to May 1985. He was the Asst Prof of Anaesthesia at TMCH, Thanjavur, from May 1985 to April 1988. Between April 1988 and February 1993, he worked as a Specialist Anaesthesiologist at King Fahd Specialist Hospital in Buraidah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Dr V Jagadeesh worked as an assistant professor of anesthesia at Madras Medical College from April 1993 to November 1997. From December 1997 to March 2002, he worked as a Specialist anesthesiologist at the Sultanate of Oman’s Royal Hospital. After his return, he joined Sankara Nethralaya in 2002 and is now the Director of Anesthesiology.
Over the past 24 years, he has specialized in Clinical Anesthesia. He has managed Neurosurgical, Cardiac, Obstetric, Neonatal, Paediatric, Orthopaedic, and General surgical procedures. He also has EXPERIENCE YEARS of treating chronically ill patients in Tertiary level ICU units. At the Royal Hospital OMAN, he completed BLS, ACLS, and PALS courses.
He is actively interested in postgraduate teaching and training. He is also a participant in the CPR training program. He has given CME lectures at ISA Salem and ICCSM Chennai.
His distinctions include Merit awards in Physiology and Pharmacology, as well as a Best Paper Award at the 2004 TRICON – ISA Conference. Dr. V. Jagadeesh belongs to the Indian Society of Anaesthesiologists and the Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine.
