Biography
Dr. Ooi Choon Jin received an MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1989. He earned his degree in 1994 at the Royal College of Physicians in the United Kingdom. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh. From 1998 to 2000, he chaired the Gastroenterologist Branch of the Singapore Academy from 2011 to 2015. He chaired the Gastroenterologist Branch of the Singapore Academy from 2011 to 2015.
Dr. Oi was responsible for the Department of Gastroenterology and Liver Medicine at Singapore General Hospital from 2000 to 2012. He was also a clinical associate professor at the Yong Loo Lin School at the National University of Singapore. Currently, he continues to be an Associate Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate School of Medicine. He is a gastroenterologist and visiting consultant at the Farah Park Medical Center.
Dr. Oi has also published in various journals such as Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Pathology, Annals of Academic (Singapore), Singapore Medical Journal, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Gastroenterology, Current Opinion in Gastroenterology, International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology. His clinical interests include all aspects of gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition. He routinely performs diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy, colonoscopy, balloon-assisted small bowel endoscopy, and capsule endoscopy.
