- Dr Wu Yik Tian Akira earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery Qualification from Monash University in Melbourne, Australia (1974). In 1981, he was awarded a Full-Time Specialist Scholarship from Prince Henry’s Hospital to work as a Renal Research Fellow. He is a 1981 Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and a member of the Singapore Academy of Medicine (1991).
Dr Wu Yik Tian Akira previously worked as a Nephrologist (Department of Renal Medicine) at the Singapore General Hospital and as a Nephrologist at Melbourne’s Prince Henry’s Hospital.
Dr. Wu has published extensively in peer-reviewed international journals as an author or co-author. He serves on the National Committee on Renal Care, the Singapore Renal Registry, and the Health Sciences Authority’s Drug Evaluation Centre. He previously served as Chairman of Mount Elizabeth Hospital’s Medical Advisory Board and Committee on Continuing Medical Qualification. The International Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Nephrology, the Australasian Society of Nephrology, the American Society of Hypertension, and the European Renal Association & European Dialysis & Transplant Association are among the societies of which he is a member. He is the Vice President of the Singapore Hypertension Society at the moment. - Dr Wu Yik Tian Akira’s areas of concern include nephrology in general.
