Dr Sudha K Ganesh earned her medical Qualification from Madras University in 1986. She then completed her Senior Residency in Internal Medicine at Madras Medical College in Chennai.
In 1991, she obtained her postgraduate Qualification in Ophthalmology from Sankara Nethralaya. Since May 1992, she has worked as a consultant at the Medical Research Foundation in the Department of Uveitis and IOL. She is currently the Deputy Director of the Uveitis Department. She is a member of the All India Ophthalmic Society and the Indian Uveitis Society. She was elected to the International Uveitis Study Group (IUSG) at the 2008 IUSG symposium in Constance, Germany.
She was elected President of the Uveitis Society of India at their conference in Bhuvaneshwar on December 1-3, 2012. She is also a member of the International Assembly of the Society for Ocular Inflammation. She has participated in and delivered papers and lectures at ten international conferences and twenty national conferences. She has 23 peer-reviewed journal publications.
She is the author of the Atlas of Uveitis, India’s first uveitis atlas. She is a co-investigator in many multicentric international uveitis clinical trials. She frequently serves as a peer reviewer for many national and international journals.
Her areas of interest include ocular inflammation (uveitis), cataract surgery in uveitic eyes, infectious uveitis and research related to ocular inflammation.
