Dr Mesenas Steven J

Dr. Steven J. Maecenas graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 1990 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom [MRCP(UK)] in 1995. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore. He started training in Gastroenterology at Singapore General Hospital in 1996 and completed an advanced fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) at Academic Medical Center, University of Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Netherlands 1999 – 2000 (sonography). St. Thomas Hospital, London, UK in 2004/2005.

He has published in local and international journals on endosonography and therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Maecenas has been an invited presenter and moderator at several regional endoscopic workshops and was the Course Director of the Endoscopy Workshop at GI Hep 2007 (Singapore). He is currently a Senior Consultant Gastroenterologist at Singapore General Hospital and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at Yong Lu Lin School of Medicine. He was Director of the Endoscopy Center, at Singapore General Hospital from 2006 to 2013 and specialized in Gastroenterology, Interventional and Advanced Endoscopic Techniques such as ERCP and EUS.
