Dr Krishna is one of India’s top pediatric cardiac surgeons, renowned for his clinical expertise and extensive involvement with cardiac care for children in India and other developing nations. In 1995, he initiated the first dedicated pediatric cardiac care program in Northern India at the Escorts Heart Hospital Research Centre (now Fortis-Escorts Heart Hospital). Under his direction, this pediatric cardiac program has become the gold standard for pediatric cardiac care in India and its Southeast Asian neighbors. Dr Iyer has performed over 10,000 operations on infants, children, and adults with congenital heart disease, including arterial switch procedures, double switch operation TAPVC repairs, Fontan and Fontan-type procedures, corrections for tetralogy of Fallot, DORV, & Truncus, etc.
