DR ALARIC AROOJIS graduated from the prestigious King Edward VII Memorial Hospital in Mumbai and completed his medical school and orthopaedic residency there. DR ALARIC AROOJIS interest in Paediatric Orthopaedics was sparked while working as a Specialist Registrar at the B.J.Wadia Hospital for Children. From 2000 to 2001, he underwent certified Paediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship training at the Alfred duPont Hospital for Children in the United States, which has the biggest Paediatric Orthopaedic program in North America, and the National University Hospital in Singapore.

DR ALARIC AROOJIS has received advanced training in paediatric orthopaedics at many centers in the United States, Europe, and Australia. He has a significant academic and scientific interest in paediatric orthopaedics and rehabilitation, with over 25 international publications and 30 national publications to his credit. He is a member of the Editorial Board of several reputable publications and has produced a chapter in the world-renowned Rockwood & Wilkins’ Textbook of “Fractures in Children,” 5th Ed 2001 & 6th Ed 2006. He has presented over 50 research papers on paediatric orthopaedics at national and international conferences and has received numerous important honors and scholarships for his efforts. He has also spoken at over 190 seminars, workshops, and conferences in India and abroad as a member of the faculty.

DR ALARIC AROOJIS is one of the country’s leading authority on the conservative and surgical treatment of clubfoot, and was chosen as India’s sole representative to the 1st International Clubfoot Symposium on the Ponseti technique in Iowa, USA, in 2007. He is one of only two Asians appointed to the Ponseti International Association’s (PIA) Medical Advisory Board, and he also serves on the Medical Advisory Boards of Miraclefeet and the Global Clubfoot Initiative (GCI). In 2017, he received the Indian Orthopaedic Association’s renowned Silver Jubilee Oration on the topic “The India Clubfoot Programme: a new public-private partnership strategy to clubfoot eradication through a nation-wide treatment program.”

He is one of the few paediatric orthopaedic surgeons in the country who can execute sophisticated pelvic osteotomies for congenital hip dislocation and treat challenging limb deformities in children with minimally invasive procedures. He will be a key member of the multidisciplinary Spina Bifida and Cerebral Palsy Clinics at Lilavati Hospital, where he will collaborate closely with Paediatric and Rehabilitation doctors. The Cerebral Palsy & Spina Bifida Clinics will provide comprehensive Orthopaedic & Rehabilitation care for children with cerebral palsy and spina bifida, including neuro-developmental therapy, Botulinum injections, multi-level soft tissue surgery, bone operations, and advanced Gait Analysis evaluation.

Dr. Aroojis is a member of the Asia-Pacific Orthopaedic Association, SICOT, Indian Orthopaedic Association, Bombay Orthopaedic Society, and India’s Paediatric Orthopaedic Society. He has served on the Paediatric Orthopaedic Society of India’s Executive Board and is currently the Hon. Secretary (POSI). He juggles his teaching responsibilities and scholarly research with a busy paediatric orthopaedic practice.
